Message	He has done head for years on high performance engines . He said the only reason why the valves would sink in the way you describe would be if the valves springs were weak causing it to bounce and from over revving it past their range. Also, lapping the valves he said would not prevent the valves from sinking versus unlapped valves. He saw no reason why lapping would make a difference a far as sinking.
